Professor Ilya Muchnik
PROFESSOR ILYA MUCHNIK - RESEARCH PROFESSOR AND ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR FOR DIMACS, RUTGERS UNIVERSITY; CO-FOUNDER OF F-SQUARED INVESTMENTS
Professor Muchnik is Research Professor at the Rutgers Bioinformatics Initiative, Laboratory for Computer Science Research. He is also Assistant to the Director for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS) at Rutgers University. He was also a Co-Founder of F-Squared Investments.

Professor Muchnik has expertise in a variety of mathematical applications, including Machine Learning, Discrete Optimization, Probabilistic Modeling, and Multi-Dimensional Statistics. Professor Muchnik was also the winner in Critical Assessment of Protein Structure Prediction Competition in 1996.

Prior to Rutgers University, Professor Muchnik was a Senior Research Fellow, Institute of Control Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences, Moscow, USSR. He was Project Leader there for a number of large-scale applications, with emphasis in biotechnology.

Professor Muchnik has an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree from the USSR National Academy of Sciences in Moscow, USSR, and Electrical Engineering from Gorky University in Gorky, USSR. He has published 18 books, 2 textbooks, and over 130 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He is the patent holder of two patents.
